Working with the JapaneseA one-day seminar at Abbey Communication Training
E-mail, conference calls, large-scale meetings, small group sessions, telephoning, formal presentations, informal chats… what is the best way to communicate with the Japanese? What are their expectations? What kind of problems are you likely to encounter? This seminar deals with communication at work, cultural differences, food, social situations and body language. It is led by Peter Stroud, who will also provide feedback on language and communication strategies used during the discussion. The seminar can be added to your training at Abbey Communication. It is delivered in English, with some basic Japanese vocabulary. Peter Stroud spent 12 years living and working in Japan. He worked most of that time for American Express, where he led the Communication Skills Training Team at the company’s regional Headquarters in Tokyo. A Japan specialist, he has worked not only with the Japanese, but also with other nationalities needing to communicate effectively with Japanese colleagues and partners. His training knowledge and experience includes business communication skills, cross cultural awareness and English Language training. Peter is married to Natsuko. They have two children whom they are educating bilingually.
